The UK Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Regulations came into force on 2nd January 2007.
The WEEE Directive introduces the principal of Producer Responsibility. The Regulations aim to reduce the amount of electrical and electronic equipment being placed into landfill. They require the collection, treatment, recycling and environmentally sound disposal of WEEE. The regulations set out obligations for producers, importers, distributors and retailers of electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) together with end users.
The Environment Agency has designated Triple 'e' Recycling Ltd. an Approved Authorized Treatment Facility for WEEE (AATF). The Company is authorised to issue evidence of recycling to Compliance Schemes acting on behalf of their members. The facility also recycles WEEE on behalf of business end users.
